Mushtaq Kak, renowned theatre director actor, passes away at 62

Jammu, Nov 19: Mushtaq Kak, renowned theatre personality, bollywood film passed away at 62. As per family sources, he was battling a chronic illness. His last rites were solemnly performed on Sunday, and he was laid to rest in the Sidhara Graveyard.
Mushtaq Kak, born in Jammu in 1961, was a distinguished personality in the field of performing arts. A recipient of the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, he served as the director of Shri Ram Centre, New Delhi, for a commendable five-year term. Throughout his illustrious career, Mushtaq Kak directed around 100 plays, acted in two dozen Bollywood movies, and directed 30 drama series for Doordarshan.
As an actor, Mushtaq Kak made significant contributions to Indian cinema, featuring in popular movies between 2007 and 2022. Some of his notable roles include Amal (2007) as Doctor, Hijack (2008) as the main villain (Mushtaq), Sikandar (2009) as Moulvi Allah Baksh, Vishwaroopam-I (2013) as Manawar, Dishoom (2016) as a Shopkeeper, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) as a Shopkeeper, Vishwaroopam II (2018) as Manawar, Romeo Akbar Walter (2019) as Joker, Shikara (2020) as Masud ahib, Tejas (2023) as Khatooni, and others.
His funeral was attended by a multitude of theatre personalities, writers, poets, actors, and a large number of people who came to pay their respects. Mushtaq Kak’s legacy in the world of performing arts will continue to inspire generations to come.
Condolences have poured in from prominent figures such as Prof Lalit Mangotra, Khalid Hussain, Dr. Javaid Rahi, Arvinder Singh Amn, Dr. Liaqat Jafri, Swami Anter Nerow, Deepak Kumar, Raj Kumar Behropya, Anil Ticko, and many others, expressing grief over the loss of this legendary artist
