Reasi, Nov: Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Jammu-Samba-Reasi constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma on Monday said Reasi is poised for holistic development, with new projects on the horizon and pending works being fast-tracked.
He said this while presiding over the District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting here, which focused on reviewing the progress of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and ongoing development projects in the district.
During the meeting, the MP took a detailed assessment of the physical and financial review of all major centrally sponsored schemes ongoing in Reasi.
Kishore directed officials to complete their targets within a stipulated time frame so that beneficiaries get timely services. He called for a collaborative approach among departments to ensure the timely completion of projects especially projects related to road infrastructure, education, health and engineering works. “There is a need for collective field visits by officials and public representatives to enhance public service delivery,” he said.
The MP directed officers to adhere to project timelines and prioritise resolving issues raised by the DDC Chairperson, MLAs and other members during the meeting. He encouraged the use of modern technology to ensure the saturation of government services. He stressed the optimal utilisation of resources and urged officers to monitor and follow up on the progress of ongoing development works closely.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan gave a comprehensive presentation on the achievements and progress of various CSS initiatives, alongside the status of key developmental projects being executed across Reasi like the Delhi-Amritsar–Katra Expressway, Chenab bridge, Anji bridge and others.
