Srinagar, June 11: Minister for Health and Education, Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said that the government is closely monitoring the prevailing weather conditions and would take call on early summer break for schools accordingly.
Speaking to reporters, ltoo said that the School Education Department is monitoring the weather situation.” If we find there is a need for an early summer break, we will take the necessary decision. If the heat wave persists, we will act accordingly,” she said
In response to a question on the tourism sector, ltoo stated that Kashmir is among the most appealing tourist destinations in India. “We also desire for tourists to visit Kashmir. An increase in tourist arrivals in the Kashmir division will lead to growth in the business sectors, thereby providing benefits to the local population.”
Giving the information related to the alleged incident of corporal punishment in a Srinagar private school, ltoo said that the issue has already come to government’s notice. “I have instructed the Director of School Education in Kashmir to start an investigation into the incident so that the factual position comes to the fore,” the education minister said.
Meanwhile, Itoo also informed that a committee has completed the report on reservation policy which will soon be submitted to the cabinet for discussions.
