Kupwara, Oct 28: MLA Karnah, Javid Ahmed Mirchal, convened a meeting at the Mini Secretariat Tangdar on Monday to comprehensively review the functioning of various departments and assess developmental works in the Karnah constituency of Kupwara district.
The meeting focused on works related to health, Power Development Department (PDD), Roads and Buildings (R&B), Public Health Engineering (PHE), food, social welfare, and other sectors. SDM Karnah, Zaffar Ahmad Lone, provided updates on various developmental initiatives undertaken in the constituency.
The MLA also evaluated the stock of essential supplies for winter in remote areas such as Seemari, Jaada, and Jabdi. He assessed the performance of the Social Welfare Department, reviewing progress on schemes including the Old Age Pension, Widow Assistance, and Marriage Assistance programs.
Additionally, Mirchal reviewed the progress of the PWC – 12MW power project in Karnah and urged officers to adopt a mission mode to ensure optimal service delivery. He stressed the importance of achieving both physical and financial targets to prevent any inconvenience to the public.
The meeting was attended by DDC member Karnah Adv. Namma Hameed, CEO Kupwara Ab Majeed Dar, Tehsildar, BDO, BMO Karnah, and other officials.
