Bandipora MLA Nizamuddin Bhat has taken a significant step by allocating Rs 25 lakh from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the renovation of Eidgah Bandipora. Additionally, Rs 35 lakh has been proposed under the UT Capex Budget for the redevelopment and renovation of the revered site.

The announcement was made after Bandipora’s Grand Imam, Khursheed Anwar, raised the need for attention towards the renovation and redevelopment of the Eidgah.

Recognizing the importance of the Eidgah as a central place for congregational prayers and religious gatherings, MLA Bhat assured the community of swift action to restore and enhance the site.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhat reiterated his commitment to addressing public concerns and ensuring the development of religious and cultural landmarks in the region. He highlighted the significance of the Eidgah for the local Muslim community and pledged to oversee the renovation process to ensure quality work.

The allocation of funds is expected to facilitate necessary infrastructure upgrades, including boundary wall repairs, improved seating arrangements and other essential enhancements to accommodate large gatherings comfortably.

Local residents and religious leaders have welcomed the move, expressing gratitude to the MLA for his proactive approach in addressing community needs. The proposal under the UT Capex Budget is also anticipated to receive approval, ensuring a more comprehensive redevelopment of the site.

The renovation of Eidgah Bandipora is seen as a step towards preserving the cultural and religious heritage of the valley while enhancing facilities for the public.
