Baramulla, July 22: As part of the ongoing efforts to promote youth empowerment and entrepreneurship, Mission YUVA (MY), a flagship initiative of the Jammu & Kashmir Government, held the ‘Roz-e-YUVA’ program at the J&K Bank Zone Office Baramulla.
According to a statement issued here, the event organised by the District Employment Office, Baramulla in collaboration with J&K Bank was presided over by the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa and was attended by the ADC Sopore, S.A.Raina; LDM Baramulla, Assistant Director Employment, other senior administration and Bank officials.
During the event, DDC, in the presence of the other officers, distributed loan sanction letters under Mission YUVA among 42 young entrepreneurs from the Baramulla district to help them establish new ventures.
Meanwhile, 5 claims under PM-Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and PM-Suraksha Bima Yojana were also settled by J&K Bank, and cheques worth Rs 2.00 lakh each were handed over to the next of kin of the deceased person under the scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC highlighted the transformative impact of Mission YUVA, stating that the government, through this flagship initiative, is proactively creating sustainable revenue-generating avenues for the unemployed youth of the region through subsidized credit support and training.
DDC added that over 200 cases under Mission YUVA have been approved for further disbursement and urged unemployed youth to take advantage of schemes like HADP and other financial inclusion initiatives to build sustainable livelihoods.
Meanwhile, Sherpa urged the beneficiaries to utilize the financial support responsibly and effectively and channel these funds towards building sustainable and dignified livelihoods, not just for themselves, but for others around them.
Zonal head J&K Baramulla expressed his pleasure at the enthusiasm shown by the youth and reiterated that J&K Bank remains steadfast in supporting the government’s vision of empowering youth through these opportunities.
