MP Rajya Sabha Gulam Ali Khatana today asserted that safety of minorities is the utmost priority of the present regime led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and special focus has been made for the upliftment of the downtrodden sections of the society during past eight years.

Addressing a largely attended meeting organized by Charanjit Singh at Ware House here today, MP Er. Gulam Ali Khatana said that during past 7 decades Congress and other parties only exploited minorities doing nothing for uplifting their status.

He said that BJP government neutered the Article 370 and gave compensation to refugees from Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, gave citizenship rights to Balmiki community, Gorkhas and West Pakistan refugees who were denied right to life, education and job by the previous governments.

He said that developmental projects are in the progress and new investments are flowing in which would generate employment opportunities in near future.

MP Gulam Ali Khatana assured the refugees and minority community members that their issues would be addressed on priority and he would personally monitor it.

He said that Naya Jammu and Kashmir is the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and for its realization all the ministeries and departments are working in unison. During past three years border tensions and crossings have seen a declining trend, terrorists are on the run and violence has gone down considerably, he said, adding a new dawn of peace and tranquility has ushered in J&K.

Speaking on the occasion, Dy Mayor Baldev Singh Baldev Singh Billawaria said that Smart City project is aimed at transforming the Jammu city and improving its infrastructure. He said that JMC is for improving the living standards of the people and would work 24×7 to achieve this.

Bhupinder Singh Pola presented the vote of thanks.
