Srinagar, Dec 28: The Mechanical and Hospital Engineering Department in the Subdivision Tangmarg successfully cleared all routes, ensuring that the renowned tourist destination of Gulmarg remains accessible to visitors following fresh snowfall that began on Friday afternoon.

Shabir Ahmad, the assistant executive engineer for the Snow Clearance Control Room within the Mechanical and Hospital Engineering Department in Tangmarg, told Rising Kashmir that snow removal operations have been completed on all roads under the jurisdiction of the snow clearance control room in the Tangmarg subdivision.

“The snow clearance efforts commenced from Narbal to Gulmarg, allowing the popular tourist destination Gulmarg to remain open for both tourists and local visitors throughout the winter season,” he said.

The Assistant Executive Engineer confirmed that all roads within the Mechanical and Hospital Engineering Department’s jurisdiction in the Tangmarg subdivision have been fully cleared. Traffic is currently flowing smoothly on all roads leading to the tourist destination.

Meanwhile, the District Police Baramulla have released a traffic advisory for individuals traveling to the renowned tourist destination of Gulmarg.

According to the advisory, traffic on the Gulmarg-Tangmarg road is allowed only from 8 AM to 6 PM.

It is essential for all vehicles, including 4x4s, to be equipped with anti-skid snow chains. Vehicle owners and drivers are also advised to ensure that their fuel tanks are full prior to commencing their journey.

Additionally, the advisory emphasizes the importance of conducting a vehicle check-up to confirm that the battery, brakes, lights, windshield wipers, and defrosters are functioning properly.

The Baramulla Police have also provided emergency contact numbers to assist the general public visiting Gulmarg, ensuring that travelers receive the necessary support.
