Budgam, Apr 28: Municipal Committee Magam has started painting walls and renovating footpaths on the Magam-Gulmarg road to beautify the town.
President of the Municipal Committee Magam, Ghulam Mustafa, told Rising Kashmir that the renovation works of footpaths in the main markets are going on both sides of the Magam-Gulmarg road.
“The walls are also being painted and most of the paintings depict Kashmiri culture and tradition. This adds to the beauty of the town,” he said.
The trees will also be planted on the middle side of the Magam main road and a proper space has been made available for the growth of trees, the MC president said, adding, “We are also going to install the signage boards in all the existing shops so that the Magam markets will look more attractive.”
The bridge upon the Magam-Gulmarg road, which is coming into the main town, will be covered with fibre tin, and there will be a gateway of the Municipal Committee Magam on both sides of the Magam-Gulmarg road, Mustafa said, adding that the streetlights will also be installed in the main town.
