Srinagar, Feb 16: Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Dar (IN), Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, University of Kashmir, has been recognized as an Emerging Investigator by the Journal of Crystal Growth and Design of the American Chemical Society (ACS) for the third consecutive time.
The journal selected around 60 young researchers from around the world based on their published work and overall research achievements. Dr Dar has received this recognition in 2021 and 2022. He has also been recognized as an Emerging Investigator by the Journal of Physical Chemistry (ACS) and Crystal Engineering Communications (RSC).
Recently, Dr. Dar was selected as a member of the Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (INYAS) under the Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi, for his significant contributions to research, teaching, and outreach activities. He is also a member of various national and international scientific organizations.
Dr Dar completed his PhD at IIT Mumbai, where he worked on designing and developing functional crystalline materials. Currently, his research at the University of Kashmir focuses on crystal engineering, with an emphasis on creating applied materials like pharmaceuticals and sensors.
His group research findings regularly feature in top international journals through research articles, perspectives, and cover stories. His work is supported by national funding agencies, including the Early Career Research Award from the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi.
His achievements have brought pride to the University of Kashmir and the scientific community in the valley, showcasing the growing recognition of local researchers on international platforms. His continued success reflects the high quality of research being conducted in the valley.
