Srinagar, Feb 16: Legendry cricketer and former star batsman of India, Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday extended his best wishes to the athletes set to participate in the upcoming 4th edition of the Khelo India Winter Games in Gulmarg.
The much-anticipated winter games are scheduled to start from February 21 to 25 at the ski resort of Gulmarg.
In a video message, Tendulkar shared his sentiments, highlighting the importance of fair play in sports. “Enjoy sports; I know it’s a competition, everyone wants to win; try to play it in the fairest way possible,” he encouraged.
The Khelo India Winter Games transcend mere competition; they symbolize a celebration of winter sports in India. Bringing together 800 athletes from across the nation, the event promises not only fierce competition but also a platform for learning and growth.
Tendulkar’s endorsement, synonymous with excellence in sports, has infused a fresh wave of enthusiasm among the participating athletes.
Nuzhat Gul, Secretary Sports Council, expressed hope that Tendulkar’s visit and encouraging words would significantly boost the morale of all participants.
Speaking with Rising Kashmir, Gul highlighted the concerted efforts being made to elevate the stature of the winter games. “We are confident this winter games will be the best ever,” she affirmed.
