Khelo India State Wushu League Wushu championship concludes at SKISC

Srinagar, Sep 08: Two-days Khelo India Wushu Women’s league championship concluded at SKISC Srinagar on Friday. 
Approximately 700 girls from 15 districts in all divisions are participated in the 02 days Khelo India State Wushu league championship. Ms. Safina Beigh DDC Baramulla was the chief guest on the occasion, she distributed medals among the winning players, Ms Nuzhat Gul was the Guest of honor on the occasion.
 Ms. Nuzhat Gul secretary JKSC presented welcome address on the occasion, she gave brief about the working of the J&K Sports council in the UT J&K. She said that Women’s league championship in different sports is the great initiative of the Sports Authority of India and is the great boost to the women folk in the country. She congratulated Wushu Association of J&K for conducting the Khelo India Wushu Women’s League championship in the  summer capital & recently concluded  National Wushu Coaching camp at SKISC Srinagar for a period of 02 months for the preparation of Indian Wushu team for the 19th Asian Games.In her welcome address she said that wushu sports is doing wonderful job in the UT J&k and is the only sports in the UT J&K which has given medals at the highest podium like  Asian Games,World Championship/World Cup and recipient of  Lone Dronacharya Award. She added that Surya Bhanu Partap Singh (Player) and Kuldeep handoo (National Chief Coach) are the part of the Indian contingent for the 19th Asian Games scheduled to be held in Hangzhou (China) from 23rd September to 8th October 2023. 
Khelo India is the scheme of the Ministry of youth affairs and sports/Sports Authority. Earlier 24 Khelo India State Wushu Women’s League championships were organised on 28th and 29th August across the country. Zonal and National League Wushu championships will be organised well before December 2023. Approximately 60 Lakhs of Cash awards will be disbursed among the winning women athletes in all division.
Ms. Safina Beigh congratulated Secretary J&K Sports council and Wushu Association of J&K for the invitation on the closing ceremony to get chance to interact with the different Wushu Women athletes from all districts. In her speech she emphasised all girls to come forward and do your best in any field to make the county/state proud. She congratulated Wushu Association of J&K for the organising Khelo India Wushu Women’s league championship in the summer capital of UT J&K. She said it is the need of the hour to encourage and focus on women’s athletes, as the Women athletes of the UT J&K do have great potential, just need proper nourishment. She praised secretary Sports Council Ms Nuzhat Gul for reaching every nook and corner of the UT J&K for the promotion of sports and providing platform to youth in every district and tehsil of the UT J&K. She Said it is great to see that sports in all districts are glooming like anything, it is due to the efforts of the Hon’ble LG and his team for establishing indoor and outdoor facility in sports in every district of the UT J&K. She said I am assured that J&K will be soon the power in sports in the country.
She also emphasised that women should learn Martial Art especially Wushu as learning of Martial art is necessity for all women folk.
During the ceremony final bouts and events were played before the chief Guest and the chief guest praised the Demonstration team of Wushu for the splendid performance on the valedictory ceremony. Secretary Wushu Association of J&K, Mohd Iqbal Manager SKISC Srinagar, Kamal Kishore, Faisal Dar, Ajaz Hassan, Ajaz Ahmed Palla, Mudasir Ahmed,
The president of Wushu Association of J&K Vijay Saraf and general Secretary Ms. Bhavneet congratulated organising committee for organising the beautiful and colorful event in the summer capital and all Wished all the very best to participants for zonal and National khelo India wushu league events.
