Dr. Faisal Masood, presently pursuing a fellowship in Minimal Invasive Urology and Oncology (Laparoscopy and Robotics) at AIIMS New Delhi, secured his second consecutive Gold medal at the prestigious NZUSICON 2023 for the best international paper, titled “Hybrid Approach to Pelvic Lymphadenectomy after Perineal Prostatectomy for Prostate Cancer.

This paper emphasizes that pelvic lymphadenectomy can be performed via the same perineal route of prostatectomy and can be utilised where robotic facilities are not available as laparoscopic transperitoneal prostatectomy is technically challenging. This study was done in PGIMER and Dr.RML hospital under the supervision of Dr. Hemant Goel.

Upon being reached for comment, Dr. Faisal conveyed his gratitude, attributing his success to the higher power.

“I am grateful to Allah for everything, and whatever praise is due, therefore, it is due to Him alone,” he expressed and extended appreciation to his mentors, parents, and wife for their unwavering support throughout the challenges of his academic journey.

Dr. Faisal further expressed profound feelings of accomplishment and pride. He described the Gold medal as the culmination of years of rigorous training, steadfast commitment, and a testament to the power of hard work, resilience, and self-belief.
