Srinagar, June 19: The Indian Army and the North Zone Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, on Wednesday organised a cultural festival as a prelude to the Kargil Vijay Diwas Rajat Jayanti, at Zorawar Hall in Pattan.
The cultural festival showcased the diverse culture of India, Defence PRO said in a statement issued here. Renowned artists from Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat, Odisha, Manipur, and Kashmir graced the stage with mesmerising performances, highlighting the essence of India’s cultural diversity.
“The event featured a profusion of folk art forms from across the country, underlining the richness of India’s artistic heritage. The festival also included soulful renditions of traditional songs, symbolizing India’s unity in diversity and mystic significance. Local artists added to the spirit of the event with spirited performances, followed by captivating folk performances that enthralled the audience,” the PRO said.
Beyond entertainment, the cultural festival aimed to celebrate the spirit of tradition, culture, heritage and diversity of our incredible country. “It sought to preserve, promote and popularise the heritage of the Indian spirit and reconnect the new generation with our culture, fostering a sense of pride and belonging,” he said.
The cultural festival received widespread acclaim and was attended by teachers, students and civil dignitaries of north Kashmir. A total of 300 youths from north Kashmir attended the event. The contingent expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for organising the event.
