Srinagar, Jan 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted searches at 25 locations in Rajouri district as part of a terror-related investigation. During the raids, incriminating material and documents were recovered, officials reported.
A police officer told Rising Kashmir that the extensive searches were carried out at various locations, including Rajouri, Naushera, Thanamandi, Dharhal, Koteranka, Budhal, Manjakot, and Chingus, following a National Investigation Agency (NIA) warrant. The searches were linked to a case registered under FIR No. 447/2024 at the Rajouri Police Station.
The case involves a terrorist network operating in Rajouri, which, in collusion with proscribed organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has been working to activate overground workers (OGWs) in Jammu and Kashmir to plan and carry out terror-related activities.
“During the searches, incriminating material and important documents were recovered and seized. Further investigation in underway in the case,” he said.
On Tuesday, National Investigation Agency (NIA) on carried out extensive searches at six locations across three districts in Kashmir.
