Jammu, Oct 03: AamAadmi Party (AAP) on Monday asked the Jammu and Kashmir Government as well as BharatiyaJanata Party to clear whether the three days visit of Union Home Minister is official in nature or political as there is dilemma among the masses in Jammu and Kashmir regarding the nature of this high profile visit.
In a press statement issued by the AAP state spokeperson, Dr.Nawab Nasir, it has been mentioned that Union Home Minister is reaching for three days visit in Jammu and Kashmir which will start on Monday evening and Union Home Minister is visiting Jammu, Rajouri, Srinagar and Baramulla and is scheduled to address rallies in Rajouri and Baramulla on 4th of October and 5th of October, respectively.
“This is an important visit in terms of Jammu and Kashmir as presently the administration of the union territory is being run by the Government of India through LG administration; it makes the visit of the Home Minister too important,” Dr.Nawab said.
Dr.Nawab of AamAadmi Party further said that people across Jammu and Kashmir have high hopes from this visit and expecting some big announcements by Union Home Minister and AAP also requests Union Home Minister to have a good analysis of some burning issues of Jammu and Kashmir and to address the same so that people in the union territory can have a sigh of relief.
Dr.Nawab enlisted some of the burning issues of Jammu and Kashmir that require immediate attention and this include
regularisation of NHM employees and equal pay for equal work, issue of daily wagers of different departments in Jammu and Kashmir, continuity of self-help group scheme of engineers, PSC confirmation of dental doctors, regularisitation and enhancement in wages of Anganwadi employees, issues of specially abled people in Jammu and Kashmir, issues of Rehbar-e-Taleem, Rehbar-e-Sehat, PDD need basis employees, PHE need base employees, Health Technicians, SPO’s of JK Police, helping the two major financial backbones of J&K i.e. Horticulture and Tourism industry.
Dr.Nawab from AAP also indicated the rising unemployment rate in Jammu and Kashmir which is highest in the country and said that unemployed educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir is having very high hopes that Union Home minister will announce special employment package for them which will be practical in nature and not like some imaginary packages that have been announced in past but have no practical realities.
Dr.Nawab also mentioned about Scheduled Tribe status for Paharis in Jammu and Kashmir and said that AamAadmi Party supports this demand which is a genuine one but there should be no change in the allocated quota of ST status to Gujjars and Bakerwals and other Scheduled Tribe communities in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We support ST status to Paharis with no change in already allocated ST status to some communities including Gujjars and Bakerwals,” Dr.Nawab further raised serious concern over hate speeches issued by some people of Paharis and Gujjars in recent days due to a division created by BJP and asked the Jammu and Kashmir administration to keep a check on these hate speeches.
