Jammu, Apr 24: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Marh, Satish Bhagat on Thursday led an impressive candlelight march to pay tributes to the innocent lives lost in the Pahalgam terror attack. The march was a heartfelt expression of grief and a call for peace and harmony in the face of terrorism.
During the march, Bhagat prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed souls and enough strength to their families to bear the immense loss. He expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and emphasised the need for unity and solidarity in the face of such cowardly acts.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Baghat welcomed the Government of India’s action against Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. He reiterated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, terrorism will be rooted out from Jammu and Kashmir soon.
He warned Pakistan to be prepared to pay a heavy price for killing innocent people in Pahalgam. “Pakistan will never succeed in creating communal tension and disturbing communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir. The people of the region stand united against terrorism and will not be swayed by Pakistan’s nefarious designs,” he said.
Bhagat warned Pakistan that the united stance of India against its sponsorship of terrorism should serve as an eye-opener. “If Pakistan does not mend its ways, it will face severe consequences, including potential decimation at the hands of India’s brave forces,” he said.
“The candlelight march led by MLA Satish Bhagat was a powerful display of solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. His strong words against Pakistan’s sponsorship of terrorism and his confidence in the Government of India’s action reflect the determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to stand united against terrorism and work towards peace and development,” the MLA’s office said in a statement.
Bhagat said that Pakistan’s inability to engage in direct warfare has led to a surge in proxy wars, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. “The country’s economic struggles haven’t deterred its support for terrorist groups, which has become a major concern for global peace. Given the severity of the situation, there’s a growing demand for global action against Pakistan. With 126 UN-designated terrorists and 27 UN-designated terrorist entities, the country has become an epicentre of terrorism,” he said.
MLA Baghat added, “Pakistan’s use of terrorists and sleeper cells aims to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir and sabotage the democratic process. There’s a strong case for isolating Pakistan globally until it stops sponsoring terrorism.”
