Gurez, Aug 09: The Indian Army has launched a new community radio station named “Shina Gilgit” in the Gurez Valley.According to a statement issued here, this initiative aims to keep the local population informed about employment opportunities, government schemes, and to promote the unique culture and traditions of the Gurez The radio station broadcasts in the Hindi and Shina language which is widely spoken in Gurez and surrounding areas. This effort not only ensures better communication with the local residents but also helps preserve and promote the local dialect, music, and heritage.The launch of this radio station is part of the Indian Army’s broader initiative under its “Operation Sadbhavana”, aimed at winning hearts and minds in remote areas.
