Patna, Bihar, Feb 24: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the Grand Trunk Road Initiatives’ (GTRi) conclave in Patna.
In his keynote address, the Lt Governor commended the endeavour of GTRi to bring together policymakers, entrepreneurs, innovators, influencers, and thinkers to discuss and identify growth opportunities in different sectors, aiming for the holistic development of Bihar.
Highlighting the efforts by states and Union Territories to develop industries, agriculture, and allied sectors to address future challenges and contribute to Viksit Bharat, the Lt Governor emphasised Bihar’s historical significance. He noted that Bihar, in ancient times, was considered a seat of power, education, literature, culture, and the cradle of Indian Civilization, emphasising its role as a land of spiritual unity where Buddhism and Jainism were born.
“Today, Bihar is witnessing economic and cultural revival, capable of playing a significant role in industrial development and transforming the nation’s tourism sector,” remarked the Lt Governor. He further underscored the impressive strides made by Bihar’s agriculture and service sectors, positioning the state as a powerful player in the overall growth of the nation, driven by its immense talent pool.
Acknowledging the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Lt Governor highlighted India’s progress over the last decade, laying the foundation for a promising future. He expressed confidence in achieving the target of becoming the world’s 3rd largest economy by 2027, emphasizing the importance of effective on-ground implementation of people-centric policies.
During the inaugural ceremony, the Lt Governor called for replicating the best practices of Jammu Kashmir and other regions to foster the overall development of Bihar through a robust network of individuals and ideas. Stressing the significance of peace and stability in attracting investments and building an economically empowered and inclusive society, he highlighted the immense potential for start-ups, technology enterprises, and agro-based industries in Bihar.
“Bihar’s brand ambassadors, young entrepreneurs, innovators, and creative networks can further propel cultural awakening and create a vibrant environment for Bihar’s socio-economic growth,” remarked the Lt Governor. He also emphasized the development of a robust ecosystem of Religious, Archaeological, and Cultural Tourism in Bihar.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed the release of the first edition of Bihar Discourse Journal and ‘Fool Bahadur,’ a Magahi novel translated by Poet-Diplomat Abhay K. Aditi Nandan, Curator, Grand Trunk Road Initiatives; senior officials of Government of India; team members of GTRi, experts, policymakers, and prominent personalities from diverse fields graced the occasion.
