Srinagar, Aug 30: In a heartfelt tribute to the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Police in Handwara organised a ‘Run for Unity’ from Chotipora to Environmental Hall Handwara. The event was dedicated to celebrating the life, role, and ideology of Sardar Patel, revered as the Iron Man of India.As per a statement issued here, the run was flagged off by SSP Handwara Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary-JKPS, in the presence of police officers and a large gathering of students. A significant number of students from various educational institutions enthusiastically participated in the event, reflecting their spirit of fitness, discipline, and unity. The run symbolised Patel’s historic contribution to national integration post-independence and inspired the youth to uphold the values of unity and nation-building. Addressing the participants, SSP Handwara encouraged the students to emulate the ideals of Sardar Patel. He underscored the importance of youth engagement in strengthening the nation and praised the students for their energetic participation. He also reiterated the commitment of Handwara Police towards promoting patriotism among the younger generation. SSP Handwara, along with other senior officers, appreciated the students for their enthusiastic involvement and extended gratitude to all stakeholders for their cooperation in making the event a success.
