Srinagar, Dec 17: Apni Party on Tuesday expressed hope that the ruling party’s recent commitment to delivering “unbiased governance” would be upheld for all people across Jammu and Kashmir, regardless of their political ideologies or affiliations, and that no one, including the ruling party’s political opponents, would be subjected to political victimisation.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a recent review meeting in Samba pledged that his government’s decisions would not be influenced by political affiliations or party lines. Apni Party leaders have expressed hope that the CM’s pledge would not be limited to certain areas but would be implemented across the entire Union Territory. The party leaders made this remark on Tuesday during an extraordinary meeting held here.
According to a party statement issued here, Apni Party’s General Council meeting was called here to discuss some important party matters, pressing public issues and the current political scenario in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was presided over by the party’s Parliamentary Affairs Committee (PAC) Chairman Mohammad Dilawar Mir.
“During the hours-long meeting, the participants engaged in a comprehensive discussion on a range of issues, including the prevailing political scenario in Jammu and Kashmir. They deliberated on various party-related matters. They also outlined a future strategy to rejuvenate the party cadre and further strengthen the party across all regions of J&K,” the statement reads.
On this occasion, the district-level leaders provided firsthand feedback from the grassroots level in their respective areas and shared their views and opinions to further strengthen the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Dilawar Mir and party General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir urged party leaders and senior workers to intensify their political and public outreach activities to strengthen their bond with the people in their respective areas.
“They emphasised that staying closely connected with the masses at the grassroots level would help them identify and highlight pressing public issues. They added that the Apni Party has an important role in ensuring that public issues and grievances are brought to the notice of the concerned authorities for prompt redressal,” the statement said.
