Srinagar, Aug 01: To ensure a stiff stance against the cross border infiltration, the security forces along the Line of Control (LoC) have deployed high-tech equipment technology to trace any suspicious movement or carry out any activity, a top Army official said on Thursday.
The security has been heightened and forces are on highlight following back to back infiltration attempts along LoC in northern Kashmir.
A top army official told Rising Kashmir that apart from human intelligence, they are using high-tech surveillance along the LoC in Keran, Machil and Uri sectors to track the enemy, infiltration, and other suspicious movements.
“We have installed multiple high-tech 360 CCTV cameras along the LoC. The equipment is tracking each and every happening along the fence between the two countries,” he said.
The Army officer said that they can now monitor the situation anytime. If there is any movement along the LoC at any particular point. It is being cross-checked from the concerned party deputed at the same location, then further steps are being taken,” he said.
“High technology has ensured better surveillance but despite that, we don’t lower our guard and the troops have to be alert as the enemy is always trying to foil peace with its nefarious designs,” he said.
The Army official said that they have special arrangements in place for it to overlook the overall situation.
“Even during Ceasefire Violations in the past, these high-tech devices are being used to track things. We are getting live feed from any point of the fence and there are special arrangements for it,” he said
The Army officer said our troops are well-trained and equipped to handle any situation, and we are committed to maintaining peace and security.
“We have integrated advanced technology into its operations,” he added..
Pertinent to mention here, on July 27 , an Army Jawan and a Pakistani intruder were killed, and two other soldiers were also injured in a gunfight between terrorists and security forces in the Machil sector of Kupwara district.
Prior to this, the army foiled an infiltration bid in Kupwara’s Keran sector and killed two terrorists, while on July 14, three terrorists were killed as security forces foiled another infiltration bid in Keran.
On July 15, Chief of army staff General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Line of Control in the Kupwara district, days after back-to-back gunfights in the area.
During his visit to the forward posts, Dwivedi reviewed the security situation, interacted with troopers and the officers deployed on the LoC and praised them for meeting security challenges.
