Srinagar, Sept 12: In order to explore the potential, opportunities of eco-tourism in Kashmir Valley, the students of Travel and Tourism, Govt. Women Polytechnic were facilitated with guided tour to Dachigam National Park, here on Tuesday.
The students were guided by experts Aqib Hussain, Biologist; Jan Mohamad, Range Officer and Imtiaz, Inspector Fisheries, who provided valuable insights into the park’s ecosystem and conservation efforts.
The students had a privilege of witnessing majestic Himalayan Black Bears in their natural habitat besides various bird species and trout Fishes.
On the occasion, Parvaiz, Wild Life Warden shared his expertise on the plant species, balanced ecosystem and potential of ecoTourism. The students were also shown wildlife documentary in the auditorium, further enriching their experience.
The expedition served as a valuable learning experience, fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world and the importance of wildlife conservation besides giving an insight regarding wildlife tourism potential of Dachigam National Park, so as to become a popular destination for nature lovers and eco-tourists.
The students and faculty expressed their gratitude to the Officers of Department of WildLife Protection, Dachigam for the courtesy extended by them. The students also expressed immense thanks to the Principal, GWP and HOD T&T and faculty for making all the arrangements and facilitating the visit with all care.
