Baramulla, Jan 17:The administration in Baramulla has served a notice to people to voluntarily relinquish possession of encroached government land within a period of three days.
In an official order from Tehsildar Baramulla Ist Class Magistrate viz order number Teh/Bla/08/2602 dated 17-01-2023, it states that those persons who have encroached the state land or protected grazing land should evacuate the illegal encroachment within a period of three days.
“To all those persons who have unlawfully occupied government land or protected grazing land. Through the notice, it is informed that they should remove their illegal encroachment on the area within three days. If any constructions have been erected on the encroached land, they should be removed within the stipulated period,” the official notice reads.
The notice from Ist class Magistrate Baramulla further reads that the department will be authorized to remove the encroachment from the area in question and any cost incurred in removing the encroachment will be recovered from the encroachers as arrears of land tax. And strict legal action will be taken against them.
Earlier in a meeting, the DC Baramulla directed all the Tehsildars to launch anti-encroachment drives on a massive scale in all the Tehsils of the district to retrieve encroached State and Kahcharie land.
