JAMMU, June 01: The Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H)-Jammu, the premier health institute in the region, has become the first hospital in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to implement the ‘Hospital Alert System’.
This advanced alert system ensures the utmost care for patients admitted to GMC-Jammu by enabling a specialized team of doctors to respond promptly in all wards and the Emergency Department. Additionally, the system will be invaluable during emergencies such as fire outbreaks, stampedes, power failures, earthquakes, or other critical situations.
The ‘Hospital Alert System’ is installed in all wards and the emergency block of the hospital. In an emergency, staff simply press a button, activating a flash light and alert system that sends a message to the control room, where response teams are on standby.
We have established a control room in GMC-Jammu, and all machinery is in place to make the ‘Hospital Alert System’ fully functional,” stated Dr.Ashutosh Gupta, Principal of GMC, Jammu.
Training is currently underway to ensure staff can effectively operate the system, a first for hospitals in J&K. “The training of the hospital staff has been going on for handling the ‘Hospital Alert System’ and it will take around a week for making this system fully functional,” Dr SandeepDogra, HoD, Microbiology informed Rising Kashmir.
Following the completion of the training, the ‘Hospital Alert System’ will also be implemented at Jammu’s Super Specialty Hospital and SMGS Hospital, the leading pediatric and maternity hospital in the region.
