Ganderbal, June 03 The Department of Youth Services and Sports Ganderbal reaffirmed its dedication to environmental protection and youth-driven initiatives through a dynamic Plog Run held today in Zone Hariganiwan.Held under this year’s global theme, “Ending Plastic Pollution Globally,” the event witnessed the active involvement of the Physical Education staff, who combined fitness with environmental action by picking up plastic waste along their jogging route.Donning gloves and carrying eco-friendly garbage bags, participants set an inspiring example of environmental stewardship in action. The Plog Run not only emphasized the importance of physical well-being but also brought attention to the pressing issue of plastic pollution. It served as a call to action for communities to take ownership of their surroundings and adopt sustainable practices in everyday life. This initiative is part of a broader series of awareness activities being held across various zones of the district by YSS Ganderbal, aimed at cultivating environmental consciousness and promoting civic responsibility, particularly among the youth.
