Srinagar, July 20: In a resounding display of determination and teamwork, District Ganderbal Sunday emerged as the champions of the Inter District Provincial Level Volleyball Tournament for U-17 Boys, held at the revered sports grounds of Chrar-e-Sharif, Budgam.A statement issued here said that the tournament was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Budgam, and witnessed participation from top-performing districts across the valley. District Ganderbal carved an extraordinary path to victory by outplaying several formidable teams during the tournament. A particularly electrifying semi-final against District Baramulla showcased the team’s tactical brilliance and unshakable resolve. The grand finale saw Ganderbal locking horns with District Pulwama in a thrilling encounter, where the Ganderbal squad dominated with finesse, clinching the championship title in style. The young athletes of Ganderbal displayed not only exceptional volleyball skills but also remarkable discipline and sportsmanship throughout the event. Their success is a testament to the rigorous training, strategic gameplay, and unwavering commitment from both players and coaching staff. District Youth Services and Sports Officer Ganderbal, Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal, extended heartfelt congratulations to the triumphant team. He lauded the collective efforts of the players, selection committee, and the dedicated escort teacher Shafiq Ahmad Mir (PET), whose mentorship played a key role in the team’s achievement. “This win is a proud moment for the entire district. May this victory inspire many more young athletes to strive for excellence,” said the officer. The victory marks a significant milestone for the sports fraternity of Ganderbal and is expected to boost morale ahead of future tournaments at higher levels.
