Ganderbal, Jan 05: The authorities in Ganderbal district have assured residents of sufficient stockpiles of essential commodities to alleviate any potential hardships during the winter season.
Assistant Director of the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department, Naseer Ahmed Baba (JKAS), stated that the administration has proactively ensured a robust supply of essential goods well in advance of the winter season.
To enhance transparency, the department has released critical information on opening quotas, liftings, and available balances for essential commodities. The district, starting with an opening quota of 10,089.79 Qtls, above has maintained a substantial balance of 8,920.67 Qtls above after allocating for December 2023 and Snow Bound Areas.
Additionally, a detailed breakdown reveals that an initial quota of 380.84 Qtls above has resulted in a total availability of 637.59 Qtls, covering both regular and snow-bound allocations. The strategic reserve includes 90.08 Qtls above for normal use and 50.18 Qtls aboye for snow-bound areas, highlighting the district’s commitment to ensuring ample supplies.
The report emphasizes strategic savings, incorporating 5,707.26 Qtls above of Rice from JKFES and 69.40 Qtls above of Rice, along with 23.63 Qtls above of Sugar, saved from Yatra 2023.
Furthermore, the administration has presented the evening stock and supply position of Motor Spirit (MS) and High-Speed Diesel (HSD). Currently, the district has sufficient stock respectively.
