Srinagar, Aug 20: Senior Congress leader and former J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Ghulam Ahmad Mir has made it to the highest policy decision-making body of the Indian National Congress (CWC).
In a statement issued here, Mir expressed heartfelt gratitude to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for his nomination as a member of the party’s highest decision-making body at the national level.
“It is truly a great honour for a grassroots-level worker from a remote area to be in CWC. I am delighted over the trust and confidence the Congress High Command has reposed in me,” Mir said, adding, “Making it to CWC is indeed a great honour”.
I can assure my party high command that I shall work with more devotion and dedication and serve the party to the best of my ability, he said.
Mir expressed “great satisfaction” over the acknowledgment of his services, commitment and conviction towards Congress Party.
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Tariq Hameed Karra was on Sunday nominated as a member of CWC of the Indian National Congress.
In a statement issued here, Karra expressed gratitude to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for his nomination as a member of the party’s highest decision-making body at the national level for the fourth time while appreciating the leadership for bestowing trust in him.
