Srinagar: Apni Party (AP) on Friday urged the administration to strictly adhere to power curtailment schedule as it said frequent outages are causing inconvenience to people.
Senior Vice President and former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir said that the government is failing to ensure sufficient power supply in the Valley. He said that frequent power cuts are causing problems for the people.
Mir said, “The frequent power cuts in both metered and non-metered areas across the Valley have brought miseries to the people. People are frustrated to see that the power department violates even its own curtailment schedule in most of the areas here.”
Urging LG administration to intervene in the matter to ensure sufficient power supply to the consumers, Ghulam Hassan Mir said, “administration must realize that people are already facing tremendous difficulties due to the harsh winter days, and the unscheduled power cuts increase their problems.”
He said the administration must intervene to make the officials of the Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) accountable in this regard.
“The department should not go for the power cuts beyond a certain limit or the announced schedule.”
