A forest fire broke out in Kawcherwan, Compartment 69/Sindh, Kangan Town, Sindh Range at around 6:30 PM, prompting an immediate response from the Sindh Forest Division and allied departments.
A team of over 30 personnel from the Forest Territorial Team, Forest Protection Force (FPF), and other allied wings swiftly reached the site to contain the blaze. Due to their prompt and coordinated efforts, about 60% of the fire has been successfully doused, with firefighting operations still underway.
Despite challenging terrain and dry vegetation, the teams are working relentlessly to prevent further spread. The remaining fire, primarily affecting grass and bushes, is expected to be completely extinguished within the next one to two hours.
Officials have urged local residents to remain cautious and report any signs of fire outbreaks immediately. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
