Srinagar, March 08 : In a remarkable celebration of International Women’s Day, FIT India, in collaboration with the J&K Yogasana Sports Association, Saturday marked Women’s Week (March 3-9) by promoting fitness and well-being among women.
The event, themed “Celebrating the Power of Womanhood through Fitness,” took place at Islamia College, Hawal, and Government College of Physical Education, Ganderbal, featuring a series of competitions and fitness events. The initiative aimed to empower women through physical fitness, emphasizing their strength, resilience, and leadership in the realm of sports. Women participants from different backgrounds actively engaged in yogasana demonstrations, fitness challenges, and competitive events, showcasing their dedication to health and wellness.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with students, athletes, and fitness enthusiasts joining hands to promote the importance of an active lifestyle. National-level coaches and
representatives from the J&K Yogasana Sports Association, namely Shabir Ahmad Dar, Zubida Lateef, Basit Nabi Wani and Showkeya Qadir conducted interactive sessions on yoga, strength training, and mindfulness, highlighting the significance of fitness in daily life.
Speaking at the event, representatives of J&K Yogasana Sports Association emphasised that initiatives like these foster a healthier and more confident society by encouraging women to embrace fitness as a way of life. The celebrations concluded on March 9 with felicitations and awards for outstanding performers, recognizing their dedication and enthusiasm in promoting fitness and sports.
