Doda, June 26: In an exhilarating match held at Sports Stadium Bulandpur, the Fearless Knight Team emerged victorious against the Assar Team, marking their first win in the tournament. The toss was won by the Assar Team’s captain, who elected to bat first and set a challenging target of 97 runs in 10 overs.
The opening pair for the Fearless Knight Team, consisting of Captain Vikas Manhas and Ashok Sharma, took charge of the innings. Manhas displayed an impressive performance, scoring 25 runs off just 9 balls, while Sharma contributed 32 runs off 11 balls. Salman Sheikh added 7 runs off 3 balls, Shakeel Mir scored 5 runs off 3 balls, and Harjot Singh contributed 8 runs off 3 balls. Sonu Sharma remained unbeaten, scoring 11 runs off 3 balls. Ashok Sharma’s outstanding performance with both batting and wicket-keeping earned him the well-deserved Man of the Match award.
When it was their turn to bowl, the Fearless Knight Team showcased their bowling prowess. Harjot Singh took 1 wicket in 2 overs, conceding 18 runs, while Sonu Sharma claimed 1 wicket, giving away 14 runs in 2 overs. Ravi also made a notable contribution, taking 1 wicket and conceding 14 runs in 2 overs. Shakeel Mir was unfortunate not to secure any wickets, conceding 28 runs in 2 overs. Naveen bowled 12 overs, giving away 11 runs but remained without a wicket. Salman Sheikh proved his mettle, taking 1 wicket and conceding 11 runs in 1 over.
Yasir Butt led the charge for the Assar Team, scoring an impressive 39 runs off 21 balls as their opening batsman. Jaffer contributed 31 runs before being dismissed, while Kamran remained unbeaten with 18 runs. Surinder managed to score 2 runs off 4 balls for his team.

Firdous Ahmed, the tournament organizer, highlighted that this event has been a part of Bulandpur’s sports culture since 1994, attracting participants from various locations. Ahmed also emphasized the need for investment from the Doda administration to develop a better stadium, nurturing young talents who could potentially participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the future. Bulandpur’s picturesque surroundings, encompassing dense forests and attracting sightseers, further add to the allure of the tournament.
