Srinagar, Aug 15: On the auspicious occasion of the 79th Independence Day, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and DDC member Srinagar, Er Aijaz Hussain, unfurled the National Flag at Government Boys School Balhama and later at his residence. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from locals, party workers, and school children, reflecting the spirit of unity and patriotism.Addressing the gathering, Er Hussain extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu & Kashmir and the nation. He urged every citizen to cherish the hard-earned freedom and work collectively towards a prosperous, peaceful, and strong India.Expressing grief over the recent cloudburst tragedy in Kishtwar, Er Aijaz conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He assured the affected families of all possible support during this difficult time.On the occasion, he also called upon BJP workers and citizens to actively participate in the nationwide “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, urging everyone to hoist the Tricolour at their homes and celebrate the day with pride, honour, and respect for the sacrifices of freedom fighters. “Every household should proudly display our National Flag as a mark of unity and patriotism. This is not just a celebration, but a reaffirmation of our commitment to the nation,” he said.The Independence Day celebrations concluded with patriotic slogans and a pledge to uphold the values of the Constitution and the unity of the nation.
