Srinagar, Dec 27: The Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Rizwan Uddin on Wednesday inaugurated the “Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0” workshop in Jammu and Kashmir. The event was attended by various stakeholders, including senior officers, contractors, and around 80 major contractors of IRCON.
Naveen Babu, ED, IRCON, was a special invitee, and Parag Verma and Sandeep Gupta, CAO, Northern Railways, were also present, the EPFO said in a statement.
During the workshop, Rizwan Uddin addressed the importance of social security in the current scenario and discussed key features of the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995, and the Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976. He emphasized the extension of these social security schemes to workers in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh since November 2019. The Commissioner explained the schemes in detail, focusing on their significance for the well-being of employees.
The workshop provided an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss and resolve issues related to the implementation of the EPF & MP Act, 1952. The interactive session covered topics such as enrollment of members, UAN activation, bank and Aadhaar seeding, online claim filing, e-nominations, e-sign, and filing ECRR.
It also addressed pending Joint Declarations for various members, and the Commissioner reviewed and processed them immediately at EPFO, Jammu. The program aimed to enhance awareness and participation, ensuring that employers and employees understand the benefits of social security schemes.
In the inaugural session, the PF Commissioner highlighted the importance of enrolling employees under the PF and Pension Fund, citing recent accidents where inadequate contributions posed challenges for the affected families. He urged employers to acknowledge the significance of these schemes and appreciated the efforts made by the EPFO.
The Commissioner also addressed grievances and queries from employers, ensuring prompt resolution of issues on the spot. The workshop successfully facilitated the exchange of information and feedback between EPFO officials, employers, and employees.
The “Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0” program for December 2023 was organized in different locations, including IRCON Conference Hall in Banihal, SIDCO Pulwama, and ALC Complex in Skampari, Leh. The workshop aimed to create awareness about social security benefits and address concerns related to EPFO schemes in the region.
