Srinagar, May 03: J&K Anjuman-E- Sharie Shian hosted Eid Milan at Howzeh Jamia Babul Ilem Oriental College of Learning in Budgam to address the growing menace of drug addiction in the Valley and issues related to women in society.
The meeting was presided by Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-E-Sharie Shian President Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi.
While elaborating the agenda of the meet, Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas said that unfortunate part is that the drug peddlers are targeting even school going children.
The brainstorming session focused on understanding the reasons and extent of the problem with regard to drug abuse.
In his speech, Aga Hassan said that the prevalence of rampant drug abuse being reported among both boys and girls and its easy availability needs to be addressed by one and all to save our future generation.
He said that it is for this reason that the seminar has been called so as to collectively deal with this menace.
Grand Mufti J&K Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam said that it was very disturbing that despite being a Muslim society and following the great religion of Islam, there are reports of rampant domestic violence in the society.
Moulana Rehmatullah Qasmi in his address stressed that it was the responsibility of the Ulema, Imams and Khateebs to create awareness among people about the rights guaranteed to the women by the great religion of Islam.
