Srinagar, Jan 31: Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, has warned its employees of disciplinary action against non-compliance with the mandatory dress code.
In a circular, SKIMS said they have noticed that some doctors, paramedical staff, and students are not adhering to regulations regarding proper dress code and identification cards.
The institute reiterated that it continues to strive for excellence in patient care and safety adding it is essential to maintain professional and clean appearance while on duty.
“All doctors, paramedical staff, students are required to wear the designated uniform during official hours and while within the premises. The uniform must be clean, ironed, and in good condition, and free from any unauthorized modifications,” the circular said.
SKIMS said that identity cards must be visibly displayed at all times in its premises while lost or damaged IDs be reported to the concerned department for replacement on priority.
The institute instructed all employees and students to adhere to guidelines which reflects professionalism, promotes security, and fosters a sense of unity and failure to comply with these guidelines will result in disciplinary action.
In November last year, SKIMS made dress code mandatory to ensure discipline and thwart any unnecessary roaming of individuals inside the institute premises.
Particularly instructions have been passed to the doctors posted in the emergency ward so that doctors and other staff are identified and it will also ease patients
The dress code is in line with standards adopted by leading hospitals in the country. SKIMS officials said implementing code aims to enhance professionalism, ensure easy identification of staff roles and maintain a cohesive, patient-centered environment within the hospital.
