Srinagar, Dec 19: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah on Tuesday paid tributes to Kashyap Bandhu, a veteran party leader and close confidant of ‘Sher-e-Kashmir’ Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, on his 38th death anniversary.
In his message, Dr Farooq said, “Bandhu ji was an epitome of loyalty when Sheikh Sahib was dismissed and arrested in 1953. Kashyap Bandhu was also incarcerated and kept in Kathua Jail for several years. He did not join hands with the forces inimical to the unique and historical identity of J&K. His stellar services for Jammu & Kashmir, and its people will never be forgotten. On his 38th death anniversary, I pay my humble tributes to this great son of the soil.”
Omar in his tributes said, “Remembering veteran NC leader, a rural development visionary and a close confidant of Sher-e-Kashmir Pandit Kashyap Bandhu ji on his 38th death anniversary. His distinguished and pioneering service in the field of politics, journalism and social service in Jammu and Kashmir will be remembered for the ages to come.”
Among others, the party’s General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Addl General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani Sogami, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Senior leaders Muhammad Shafi Uri, Sharief Ud Din Shariq, party leaders Dr Sameer Koul, Umesh Talashi have also paid glowing tributes to Kashyap Bandhu Ji on his 38th death anniversary.
