Rajouri, March 21: Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, visited Rajouri district on Friday to review ongoing infrastructural projects at various Waqf Board-managed places of worship. She supervised the mat-laying process at Eidgah Jamia Masjid, City Jamia Masjid and Panjpir Mosque, ensuring their readiness ahead of Eid.
Dr Andrabi was accompanied by CEO of J&K Waqf Board Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, Administrator Waqf Board Rajouri Abdul Qayoom Mir, and Manager Waqf Unit Rajouri Sajjad Ahmed. Several prominent religious scholars and community leaders, including Moulana Mohammad Farooq Naqshbandi, Farooq Muztar, Dev Raj Sharma, Jaget Ram, social activist Azam Shah, Tazeem Dar and Ajay Sharma were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Andrabi expressed satisfaction with the progress of the work, stating, “We had committed to laying new matting at these key places of worship before Eid, and we are pleased to have fulfilled this promise.” She further highlighted that several infrastructural projects are currently underway and assured that they will be completed soon. “The Waqf Board’s mat-laying initiative is an ongoing project, and we plan to extend it further in the future,” Dr Andrabi added. She also emphasised that Jammu and Kashmir holds immense spiritual significance, and the Waqf Board is committed to strengthening and upgrading religious centres across the region.
“Public trust in the Waqf Board has been fully restored due to our transparency and proactive approach. It is this trust and support that motivate us to execute developmental plans effectively,” she said.
