Srinagar, July 25:Students of Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar brought laurels to the Valley by delivering an impressive performance at Oratoria 2025, the prestigious Inter-DPS English Literary Festival held at DPS Navi Mumbai on July 19.
A statement organised by the DPS Society, the national-level event—titled “Oratoria: Where Words Breathe and Voices Rise”—saw participation from 28 DPS schools across India. The event provided a competitive yet collaborative platform for students to showcase their skills in public speaking, debate, and poetry.The festival was conducted in two phases—online preliminaries and an on-site final round. Following stellar performances in phase one by Sania Zehra (Grade VII), Sheikh Ahmad Sabir (Grade X), and Minha Bilal Wani (Grade XII), DPS Srinagar qualified for the final round.The final round featured six students from DPS Srinagar—Zaynab Shabir Deva, Dayaan Murtaza, Sheikh Ahmad Sabir, Ahmad Abrar Giri, Hadi bin Imtiyaz and Manahel Khan—who competed in TED-style talks, debate sessions, and a poetry competition. They were accompanied by escort teacher Rehana Tabassum, English Department Coordinator.
The highlight of the school’s participation came in the “Sinister Stand” category, where a Grade X student from DPS Srinagar secured 3rd place, marking a major achievement for the school on a national stage.Officials from the school stated that the students’ performance reflected not only individual brilliance but also the institution’s focus on holistic education that encourages academic excellence alongside extracurricular engagement.“The experience was not merely competitive; it was also a platform for creative exchange, critical thinking, and national-level collaboration,” the statement said.The students expressed gratitude to the school management for enabling their participation and providing an environment that nurtures confidence, creativity and expression.
