Doda, July 13: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Doda hosted the second phase of the inter-zonal district-level tournament for U/14 and U/17 boys and girls at the Indoor Sports Stadium, Doda, showcasing a vibrant mix of talent and discipline.According to a statement issued here, held under the 2025–26 activity calendar approved by the Directorate of YSS, J&K UT, the tournament was conducted under the leadership of Director General Anuradha Gupta, Joint Director Jammu Vinakshi Koul, and DYSSO Doda Jaffar Haider Sheikh. Young athletes competed with enthusiasm across multiple disciplines—Boxing, Karate, Judo, Wushu, Thang-Ta, Fencing and Badminton.The event aimed to identify top performers for state-level competitions, while fostering fitness, focus, and fair play. The matches were officiated by trained personnel including PELs, PEMs, PETs, REKs, and NYCs, ensuring professional standards throughout. DYSSO Sheikh praised the students for their spirited participation and urged them to steer clear of drugs, reinforcing the district’s collective goal of a “Nasha-Mukt Doda.” This energetic tournament not only celebrated sporting excellence but also laid a strong foundation for a healthier, more disciplined generation in the region.
