Doda, Aug 31: District Magistrate (DM) Doda Harvinder Singh on Sunday convened a virtual meeting to review the ongoing relief and restoration operations across the district.The meeting was attended by SSP Sandeep Kumar Mehta, ADDC Roshan Lal, ADC Anil Kumar, ACR, CPO, Tehsildars, along with SHOs and heads of departments responsible for essential services.During the meeting, the DM issued a series of urgent directions to ensure timely response, transparent reporting and community-centric service delivery.Tehsildars were instructed to conduct accurate categorisation of affected areas and properties under “washed away,” “severely inundated,” and “fully damaged” categories, to facilitate prompt relief disbursal. They were directed to submit daily updates on relief distribution to ensure transparency and continuous monitoring.All magistrates were asked to ensure seamless coordination in the delivery of essential services, particularly electricity and water supply, amid ongoing hardships faced by the people.A consolidated damage assessment and restoration report was reviewed, with emphasis on the urgent revival of critical services. The concerned departments were directed to submit timely and detailed assessments of agricultural and livestock losses for immediate relief intervention.The Executive Engineers PDD and PHE were specifically instructed to ensure urgent restoration of power and water supply in major affected areas.In coordination with the District Police, the DM and SSP issued instructions for ensuring law and order during relief operations, regulating traffic on affected routes, and extending necessary assistance to the civil administration in restoration efforts.Emphasising the importance of public engagement, DM Doda directed officials to strengthen community support mechanisms, address public grievances effectively, and maintain strong grassroots-level communication.
