Poonch, May 22: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, today visited Poonch to review the preparedness for the polling being held in the border district on May 25 under the 6th phase of LokSabha General Elections. The District of Poonch is part of the Rajouri-Anantnag parliamentary constituency.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar chaired a meeting with district officers to review the arrangements for dispatching poll parties, setting up collection centers, providing vehicles, and other logistics for the seamless conduct of polling.
The Divisional Commissioner directed officers to ensure all preparations are made well in advance and emphasized meticulous planning and coordination among the departments involved in the electoral process.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner conducted an on-spot inspection of the strong room, election cell, and a sample polling booth to assess ground-level preparedness. He instructed concerned officials to ensure all necessary arrangements at polling stations.
In addition to polling preparedness, the Divisional Commissioner also reviewed the law and order situation and security arrangements in the district.
