Ganderbal, May 24: The 26th District Sqay Championship Ganderbal concluded Saturday with vibrant energy and competitive spirit at HKMC Institute Manigam. The championship witnessed participation from approximately 472 students representing various clubs and schools across the district.
The event was graced by Additional Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, Parwaiz Ahmad, as the chief guest. Ghulam Hassan, District President BJP and Chairman HKMC, attended as the special guest, while Owais Ahmad, Chairman of Rainbow Kids Institute and Miss Safiya Rashid, Vice President of Ganderbal Sqay Association, were the guests of honour.
The young athletes displayed remarkable talent, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the championship. The top performers have earned their place to represent District Ganderbal in the upcoming UT-level Sqay Championship scheduled for August. The final results saw HKMC Institute Manigam clinching the overall first position, securing 21 Gold, 29 Silver, and 37 Bronze medals. MB Education Institute secured second place, while Rainbow Kids School Wussun took third position.
The organisers extended their heartfelt thanks to all participants, coaches, schools, and supporters for contributing to the success of the event. The championship not only highlighted the growing popularity of Sqay in the region but also reinforced the district’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent.
