Shopian, Aug 03: District Shopian volleyball Championship, organised by Cambridge Volleyball Club of Shopian under the banner of Volleyball Association of J&K and sponsored by J&K Sports Council, commenced on Thursday.
As per the officials, a total of 20 teams including 16 boys and 4 girls are participating in the championship.
In the inaugural match, Cambridge Volleyball Club beat GDC Shopian by 2-0 (25-22, 25-21).
Earlier, the championship was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Mohd Shafi, Principal of Govt. Degree College Shopian in presence of Guest of Honour, Nelofer Habib, Secretary of District Kulgam Volleyball Association.
