Shopian, June 10: Two Panchayat villages in South Kashmir’s Shopian district will witness launch of Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan for which camps will be organised from 15 to 30 June.
Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Shishir Gupta, on Tuesday told media that the campaign is scheduled to be launched in many tribal dominated villages across the country.
“Two Panchayats from Shopian, Kathohallan and Pahlipora, have been selected under the campaign,” Gupta said, adding that for Kathohallan Panchayat the camps will be organised from 15 to 22 June and for Pahlipora from 23 to 30 June.
He said that the campaign’s significance is to fill gaps in delivery of services.
“There are around 25 critical intervention schemes under 17 different ministries, beneficiaries not covered under these schemes will be covered on the spot after their identification during the camps,” he said.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the public to come forward to participate wholeheartedly so that no eligible beneficiary is left behind.
Headded that the camps will serve as a single-window platform for the saturation of benefits across critical sectors including Health, Agriculture, Education, RDD, Jal Shakti, Food, PDD, ICDS, Social Welfare YSS, Banking, Training, Skill Development and Forest Rights.
All concerned departments have been instructed to prepare baseline data while designated officers will be present during the camps to resolve issues on the spot.
This initiative forms part of a larger national effort to honour tribal heritage and empower tribal communities, ensuring they receive the full benefits of government development and welfare schemes.
Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan will ensure saturation coverage for tribal families in tribal-majority villages and aspirational districts. It will cover 63,843 villages, benefitting over 5 crore tribal people.
