Srinagar, Oct 31: Deputy Mayor Parvaiz Ahmad Qadri, accompanied by a team of officials, conducted a visit to Nagbal, Ahmad Nagar Ellahi Bagh, Soura Owantabawan, Saidpora Srinagar, and surrounding areas to address the issue of encroachment on the PHE 1200mm and 700mm diameter pipe corridor. The visit aimed to ensure the removal of encroachments and restore the integrity of the pipe corridor.
The Deputy Mayor was joined by the Executive Engineer of the Jal Shakti Department Master Plan Division Srinagar, the Chief Transport Officer of the SMC, the Assistant Executive Engineer of the Master Division Srinagar, the Sanitation Officer (North) of the SMC, the Anti Encroachment Officer of the SMC, the Enforcement Officer (North) of the SMC, and other officers and officials from the SMC and PHE.
During the visit, Deputy Mayor Parvaiz Ahmad Qadri provided on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers and officials of the SMC and PHE to expedite the process of removing encroachments from the crucial pipe corridor. He emphasized the urgency of the situation and set a deadline for the removal of encroachments by tomorrow.
The Deputy Mayor expressed his commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of the pipe corridor and the uninterrupted supply of water to the residents of Srinagar. He urged the cooperation of the local community in supporting these efforts and emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of public infrastructure.
The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department will work together to carry out the necessary actions to remove the encroachments promptly. The authorities will also take preventive measures to prevent the recurrence of encroachments in the future.
