A dead body of man was found on Thursday morning in Nowgam area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.
In a handout to GNS, the police said that today, during the morning hours, dead body of a male was found on the Railway Service Road, Nowgam along the National Highway route in District Srinagar.
According to police spokesman, during preliminary investigation, the identity of the deceased came to fore from the Bank Pass-book found in his jacket pocket as Farooq Ahmed Handroo son of Abdul Rehman Handroo resident of Hamdania Colony, Bemina. Besides, a scooty bearing registration No. JK01AP-5316 was also found near the dead body. Subsequently, the dead body has been shifted to SMHS for medico-legal formalities.
During further course of enquiry, it has surfaced that the deceased was on medication and there was a dip in his saturation level, they said.
Accordingly, inquest proceedings under relevant sections of law have been initiated in Police Station Nowgam. Further investigation is going on, reads the statement.(GNS)
