The representatives from Shia associations highlighted several issues in Dab and Kulan areas, includ-ing the repair of street lights, macadamisation of roads, provision of firewood, fencing upgradation of Maqbooza Ahli Islam Dub and availability of poultry birds. The Rural Development Department and Municipal authorities were instructed to undertake thorough sanitation drives at key religious locations including Imam Baras, shrines and masjids. Executive Engineers from PMGSY and R&B were directed to ensure repair of potholes and take up macadamisation works on all major roads where Muharram processions are expected. The Power Development Department was tasked with ensuring the installation of necessary street lighting and providing uninterrupted power supply during the period. Addressing the meeting, the DC directed all concerned departments to ensure that adequate and timely arrangements are made, particularly in Shia-dominated areas, to ensure the smooth and dignified observance of Muharram-ul-Haram.
