Doda, Aug 22: Continuing the district’s drive to foster grassroots entrepreneurship and youth-led economic empowerment, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) under Mission YUVA at the DC Office Complex.As per a statement issued here, during the session, 238 fresh self-employment cases were scrutinized and duly approved, taking the cumulative tally of sanctioned cases under the mission to 882 — a significant step forward towards creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for the youth of Doda. While addressing the committee members, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated that Mission YUVA is not merely a loan scheme but a comprehensive platform to cultivate entrepreneurship, innovation, and self-reliance among aspiring youth. He emphasized that the administration remains committed to ensuring continuous capacity-building, mentoring and handholding support, coupled with structured monitoring to guarantee the success and sustainability of the sanctioned units. Deputy Director Employment Rafiq Ahmad Jaral informed that the district’s youth are responding with overwhelming enthusiasm and optimism towards Mission YUVA. “In a region where livelihood has traditionally centered around agriculture and service sector jobs, this mission is unlocking new avenues and diverse entrepreneurial opportunities for our young generation,” he noted. He also expressed gratitude to the SBDU members for actively supporting the Employment Department in preparing viable DPRs and facilitating financial linkages, besides ensuring timely processing of necessary clearances. The meeting concluded with a formal vote of thanks to the chair and all participating members.
